IX - the Hermit
+.+.+.+.+.+.+.+.+.+.+.+.+
A
grey-bearded man, perhaps St Francis of Assisi, stands in a
dark forest with a deer at his side. He holds a lantern, but
it gives off little light. A grey cat stalks a quail.
My
Interpretation: Know
thyself.
Reflection,
contemplation and self-acceptance. Introversion
and solitude. Take
care not to become too detached from the world around you.
(Reversed:
Stubborness, loneliness and inability to communicate)
Edit
notes: This
card is similar to the Rider-Waite card in many respects, more
than my original version. I've used
the common medieval theme of St Francis, as it's appropriate
for the meaning of this card.
